So I turned 23 last week and I wanted to give 23 lessons I have learnt during my
lifetime (that I wouldn’t dare to consider wisdom, but simple enunciates that
for me are true)
1- Don’t mind eating alone in public
2- Be close to your family and show
them how much they mean to you
3- Enjoy life’s natural pleasures: silence, rain, being part of a crowd
4- Eat whatever you want if you truly
feel like it (it’s worse to deprive the craving)
5- Be glad for the true friends you
have, share both laughs and tears with them
6- Immerse in new and frightening
activities
7- Don’t think about the mistakes you
made in the past, they’ve shaped you
8- Do not take anything for granted,
question everything
9- Be confident even if you’re not
(people don’t know that you don’t know)
10- Only God is more important than
anything else
11- Be true to yourself, do and act as
you like (within what’s ethic)
12- Don’t let your tongue speak for
itself: filter your words and choose them carefully
13- Bad words don’t hurt as much as
truth does, be sincere within reason and context
14- Don’t overjudge others, you don’t
know anything about them
15- Treat yourself once in a while, go
to a spa and have some “me time”
16- Go to therapy, it helps even if you
think you don’t need it because you’re not “crazy”
17- It’s better to be overdressed than
underdressed
18- Don’t follow trends, follow and
trust your style
19- Talk to your grandparents and write
down their amazing stories
20- Write yourself a very detailed
letter every month (like the old days)
21- Save money and spend it on anything
that makes you happy
22- Be grateful with others, they value
a honest “thank you”
23- Don’t expect anything from anybody,
don’t let high expectations bring you down
